After finalizing Kenya the research started to find the right Travel Vendor for our safari trip and after spending a lot of time I came across Lion Trails Safaris
I sent them my first mail on 5th February, Bernard Mwai sent me a very prompt reply and I was very confident about entrusting LTS with our Safari even they were a bit expensive over the other quotes I had received!
I chose their “LTS 015 – 6 Days Ndovu Safari” option and customized it basis my preferences. We exchanged a total of 67 Mails between us before the trip and he was always prompt, courteous & very informative in all his replies!
At one time I got very apprehensive about the trip and he gave me a very honest answer – one which I had never expected to come from a Businessman! He was so brutally honest!

Yesterday I went to see Nairobi National Park. What’s so cool in this park is that it’s located just 7 kilometers from downtown Nairobi and you can see plenty of animals there. I had booked Lion Trails Safaris to take me around.

We landed in Nairobi Monday afternoon and were met at the airport by a representative of Lion Trails Safaris, the safari company we selected. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of such outfits in Kenya touting safari adventures of all shapes and sizes.
Brian and I were fortunate to find a small, local company that catered to our every need. They were wonderful and took care of everything, via a series of emails, from airport transfers and booking all accommodations (at hotels of our choosing) to park entry fees and hours of endless knowledge shared about Kenya, it’s people and the wildlife.
I can’t say enough good things about Bernard, who made all our arrangements, and Ben, our guide; they are our new friends and we can’t thank them enough for making our first trip to Kenya so special.

Safari holiday companies – which one
Two years ago we went to Mount Kenya, Samburu, Baringo, Nakuru and the Mara. Last year we went to the Aberdares, Baringo/Bogoria, Kakamega, the Mara and Naivasha. Both trips greatly exceeded all expectations.
Kenya is expensive however due to accommodation costs and National Park fees (the Mara is $80 per person per day for non-residents!). It is better if you can share costs.
I get Bernard of Lion Trails to arrange my itinerary/book accommodation. He is excellent to deal with and keeps overheads as low as possible.
I’m off to Kenya again in a week’s time. Doing an eastern circuit taking in Amboseli, Tsavo West, Shimba Hills, Watamu area (Arabuko-Sokoke Forest) then back to Nairobi via Tsavo East.
